Why Should You Consider An NCMS Leadership Position?

Nominations are now being accepted to fill open seats on the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) Board of Directors, AMA delegation and the Nominating and Leadership Development Committee. Perhaps you’re wondering why someone would want to serve in such a capacity. Here is what current NCMS President John L. Reynolds, MD, had to say about that:

“With all the changes underway in health care, it’s easy to criticize and complain. I wanted to take action to address the issues facing our profession. Serving for many years on the NCMS’ Legislative Cabinet gave me a seat at the table as we determined our legislative policy priorities and put our strategies into action, often with great success. Now, serving on the Board of Directors, gives me a unique vantage point to see the vast reach the NCMS has and how, when smart and determined people get together, we can make a difference for our colleagues. It is work that can be frustrating, but overall it’s an inspiring and empowering experience.”

Watch what other NCMS Board members have to say about their service on the Board. And, hear NCMS President-Elect Timothy Reeder’s, MD, vision for the future.

We encourage you to consider a leadership position. For details about each of the available seats, please click here. If you would like to be considered, please complete this application at your earliest convenience.
