Bill Summary

This bill states that a correctional institutions can not use retrains on a prisoner or a detainee known to be pregnant  during labor, transportation to a medical facility, delivery, or postpartum recovery. The bill states that the provider or health professional treating the patient can request that the officer remove restraints. If restraints are used, the least restrictive restraint is to be uses, and must be documented by the corrections official as to the circumstance as to why this restraint was necessary.
