Prevention of Firearm Injuries in Children

RESOLVED, That the North Carolina Medical Society supports measure to reduce firearm morbidity and mortality among children age 18 and under that include (1) parent and community education regarding the dangers of firearms to children; and (2) routine parent and community reminders to obtain firearm safety locks, to store firearms under lock and key, and to store ammunition separately from firearms.
