NCMS Voting Begins Today – Watch For Your Online Ballot

Online ballots are being sent today, so watch your email for your opportunity to cast your ballot for NCMS officers, Board of Directors, AMA delegates and Nominating and Leadership Development Committee members. The ballot you will receive includes a biographical sketch and curriculum vitae for each candidate.

In developing the slate of candidates, the NCMS Nominating and Leadership Development Committee vetted nominations from across the state made by NCMS members during a 3-month nomination period. This year’s Committee included seven physician members representing all four NCMS regions, plus five NCMS Board members.

The results of the election will be presented at the NCMS Annual Business meeting on Friday, Oct. 4, during the LEAD Health Care Conference in Raleigh.

NCMS Member Sworn in for Congressional Seat

NCMS member Greg Murphy, MD, was sworn in Tuesday evening for the 3rd Congressional District seat he won in the recent election to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Walter Jones, Jr. in February. Rep. Murphy, a Greenville urologist, had been serving in the General Assembly.
