2019 Quality Payment Program (QPP) Performance Information Now Available on Care Compare

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has added new Quality Payment Program performance information for doctors, clinicians, groups, and Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) to the Doctors and Clinicians section of Medicare Care Compare and in the Provider Data Catalog (PDC). CMS is required to report MIPS eligible clinicians’ Final Scores, MIPS eligible clinicians’ performance under each MIPS performance category, names of eligible clinicians in Advanced APMs and, to the extent feasible, the names and performance of such Advanced APMs. Performance information for doctors and clinicians is displayed using measure-level star ratings, percent performance scores, and checkmarks.

Provider Relief Fund: Free Webinar on Rules and Reporting

The accounting/ auditing firm Draffin Tucker has offered to do a free webinar for CHCs about the rules, reporting requirements, etc., associated with Provider Relief Funding.  The webinar is scheduled for Thursday, June 24 at 2:00 PM ET

OSHA Announces Long-Awaited Standards on How Employers, including CHCs, Must Protect Staff from COVID

On Thursday June 10, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) released a long-awaited “emergency temporary standard” (ETS) outlining how employers must protect employees from exposure to COVID.  The ETS applies to all health care employers – including CHCs. OSHA also issued safety guidelines for non-health care businesses, but unlike the rules for health care employers, those are optional.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has contracted with Acumen, LLC to develop episode-based cost measures for their potential use in the cost performance category of the Merit-based Incentive Program (MIPS). As part of Wave 4 of measure development, Acumen, LLC is hosting Clinician Expert Workgroup (“workgroup”) webinars in June 2021 that will be open to the public with a listen-only option.
