Durham-Orange County Medical Society Holiday Meeting!

The Durham-Orange County Medical Society (DOCMS) Board of Directors invites area physicians, PAs and med students to attend its virtual holiday meeting, featuring a special guest speaker — tattoo artist and storyteller Robert Bland — who will wrap up this year of unusual events with an entertaining presentation designed to lift your spirits and connect with your colleagues. Join us for a special treat, with meals provided for pick-up at the University Club in Durham.


The DOCMS is offering meeting attendees an opportunity to order and pick up food from the University Club. Attendees are limited to ordering two (2) meals totalView the menu here. Please note: The deadline to order food is Monday, December 6th by noon.

New Diabetes Funding Opportunity

CDC recently released a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for a cooperative agreement to fund six recipients (up to $900,000 annually) for five years to assess the long-term effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and barriers to enrollment or completion of structured lifestyle interventions as implemented by the National Diabetes Prevention Program. The application deadline is Monday, January 24, 2022.
