DiabetesFreeNC – Take the Pledge

More than 84 million Americans or 1 in 3 adults has prediabetes, and the majority of them don’t know they have it. Diabetes has reached epidemic proportions, and if prediabetes is left undetected and untreated, the progression to diabetes will continue to place a tremendous strain on physicians, clinical practices and health care costs associated with diabetes care and management. Through the statewide initiative in North Carolina to prevent type 2 diabetes called DiabetesFreeNC, physicians and care teams have an opportunity to support their patients with prediabetes with a free or low-cost, evidence-based National Diabetes Prevention Program.

Add your name to the growing list of North Carolina clinicians taking a stand against diabetes. Learn more and take the pledge.

Reminder: Death Certificates to go Fully Online as of January 1st

Effective January 1st, the state of North Carolina will require all death certificates to be submitted electronically using its new online system, the NC Database Application for Vital Events (NC DAVE).

Clinicians who sign death certificates or could need to sign one in the future must register with NC DAVE to certify deaths. Anyone who has not yet registered for a free account with NC DAVE should act now to be ready for the Jan. 1 deadline. Under state law, physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners may certify deaths. Individuals who sign death certificates are referred to as “medical certifiers”.

Curi Capital’s Frances Cronlund shares five ways to give that benefit both you and the receiving organizations.
