Bill Summary

A Proposed Committee Substitute (PCS) was introduced in the House Rules Committee on June 12, 2018. This PCS added a new section of the bill on amending the NC Medical Board. The PCS would change the NCMB makeup from 7 to 6 licensed physicians recommended by the Review Panel and appointed by the Governor. The PCS would change NCMB makeup from 4 to 5 members appointed by the governor which would add one duly licensed physician who is a doctor of osteopathy or a full time faculty member of a NC medical school that utilizes integrative medicine in clinical practice.

Bill Movement

This bill added the NCMB component in the House Rules Committee as a PCS at 8:45 pm on June 12, 2018. This bill passed the House at 5:00pm on June 13, 2018. The Senate voted not to concur 0-44. The House will be notified. The house changed the bill to get rid of the word “not”. This language means that all members would be required to undergo the review process.
