As the Nov. 3 election approaches, the country is in the midst of an on-going pandemic, struggling with systemic racism and a shrinking economy. Some political history scholars have compared this year’s election to that of 1860, which, on the eve of the Civil War, presented another stark choice between two competing visions for the future of the US. While this election has consequences for the entire country, our decentralized system of government makes politics at the local level fundamental.

This Friday, Oct. 23 from 1 to 2 p.m. join a conversation with NC General Assembly representatives from both sides of the aisle as we discuss crucial health issues for North Carolina including the recent allocation of $25 million to the NCMS Foundation to help provide financial relief to independent practices struggling with the pandemic.
