Representatives from Western Carolina Medical Society (WCMS) and nearly 15 family medicine resident members of the NC Academy of Family Physicians made the rounds through the legislative buildings today during the inaugural White Coat Wednesday advocacy day. Budget and scope of practice issues were at the forefront of attendees’ minds as they met with their local representatives and later observed the action on the floor of the Senate.

White Coat Wednesdays bring NC physicians, PAs, residents, and med students to Raleigh, where the NCMS offers a legislative briefing in the morning regarding the important issues brewing in the General Assembly and then takes attendees down to the legislature, where they can meet one-on-one with their representatives. Check out the schedule below and make plans to attend one of the upcoming White Coat Wednesdays. Interested individuals or groups are welcome to contact Will Barnett, 919-833-3836 ext. 130.
