The NCMS Annual Meeting is THE Place to Be Oct. 24-25

cover-imageWith speakers addressing timely issues ranging from Ebola preparedness and response to caring for our veterans, the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) Annual Meeting on Oct. 24-25 at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center in Greensboro is the place for North Carolina physicians and physicians assistants to gather for information and to meet with their colleagues from around the state.

On Friday afternoon, a CME session on issues surrounding care for veterans will bring together those on the front lines treating veterans and addressing access issues for those who serve their country. On Saturday morning at the House of Delegates, the US Interim Under Secretary for Health at the Veterans Administration, Carolyn Clancy, MD, will join us and give her perspective on veterans’ health care issues from the national level.

At the Friday House of Delegates session, state epidemiologist Zack Moore, MD, MPH will give attendees the latest on North Carolina’s efforts to be prepared to respond if a case of Ebola turns up within our state.

In addition to these informative sessions, the House of Delegates will be discussing and adopting policies of interest and concern to our members, our Women in Medicine section will meet, resident and fellows will be presenting posters and our incoming NCMS President Robert E. Schaaf, MD, FACR, will be inaugurated.
