This bill would allow courts to consider post-traumatic stress disorder as a mitigating factor when sentencing a person who is a veteran.

A proposed committee substitute was introduced in the House Committee on Homeland Security, Military, and Veteran Affairs on April 6, 2017.

This bill received a favorable report in House Judiciary II on April 25, 2017.

This bill passed second reading in the House with a vote of 105-13 on April 25, 2017. This bill will now move to the Senate.
