SB 176 – Modernize Physical Therapy Practice

This bill would alter the definition of physical therapy to include manipulation of the spine without a prescription from a physician licensed to practice medicine in NC.  This would be a change to physical therapists’ current scope of practice.

This bill was referred to the House Health Committee on February 27, 2017.

This bill was heard in the House Health Committee on April 25, 2017.

This bill will was heard on the House floor on April 26, 2017  This bill passed second reading with a vote of 108-8, and will now move to the Senate.
