NCMS PAC: Who We Are

The North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) Political Action Committee is the political arm of the NCMS, which represents more than 11,500 North Carolina physicians, physician assistants, residents, and medical students.

NCMS PAC is a voluntary, non-profit, unincorporated committee organized to direct financial support to state and federal candidates in North Carolina. Membership consists of individual physicians, physician assistants, residents, medical students, and physician spouses who are dedicated to preserving the quality of health care in North Carolina and throughout the United States.

The committee is comprised of two branches: NCMS PAC-State and NCMS PAC-Federal, which together constitute the political action arm of the North Carolina Medical Society. NCMS PAC activities are funded by voluntary contributions from its members.

Physicians decide whom they wish to support. Congressional and legislative candidates' positions on medical and health care issues are carefully scrutinized by physicians serving on the NCMSPAC Board of Directors before contributions are made. These combined efforts to elect candidates who share our interest in quality medical care provide a stronger voice for medicine's concerns than individual contributions.
