Welcome to Thursday’s NCMS Morning Rounds

May 30, 2019

Meet the NCMS President In the Comfort of Your Home or Office!

The NCMS is pleased to offer you the opportunity to interact with our 2019 NCMS President Timothy J. Reeder, MD, MPH, FACEP via our special VirBela Virtual World. This is your last chance to sign up for the Tuesday, June 4, meet and greet, which will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. in our special virtual space. Sign-up to participate now in this virtual event. Here’s the sign-up link.

Because of limitations on the software license for the platform, only the first 25 NCMS members be able to join the meeting and experience this unique way to interact. Registration closes tomorrow, Friday, May 31.

How Do You Treat Entitled Gen Z Patients?

A recent paper published in PLOS|One, an interdisciplinary journal with the goal of making well-conducted research freely available, looked at the health care preferences of various generations of patients – from 18-29 year olds to those aged 65 and over.

The graphic below breaks down the findings and may give you some new insight into how you relate to each age group in your practice.

Read the PLOS ONE paper. Or read a summary of the findings and download the graphic.

NCMS Committee Interviews Candidates for Leadership

The NCMS’ Nominating and Leadership Development Committee will convene this Saturday to interview the eight candidates for open positions on the NCMS Board of Directors, the NC AMA delegation and on the committee itself.

The committee will announce its recommended slate of candidates for election on July 5. All NCMS members will be able to vote beginning on Sept. 19 with the election results announced at the NCMS’ Annual Business meeting at the LEAD Health Care Conference in Raleigh on Oct. 4.

Watch your NCMS Morning Rounds for updates on the slate of candidates and the voting process as well as information about the educational sessions and opportunity to socialize and network with your colleagues from across the state at the 2019 LEAD Health Care Conference.
