NCMS Board Member Inducted as Fellow in American College of Radiology

Robert-Schaaf

North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) board member Robert E. Schaaf, M.D., became a Fellow in the American College of Radiology (ACR) earlier this month. Schaaf, CEO and managing partner at Wake Radiology Consultants, P.A. in Raleigh, was inducted during a ceremony at the ACR Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership conference in Washington, D.C.

Schaaf is a member of ACR and the North Carolina Medical Care Commission, and serves on the board of directors for NCMS, Medical Mutual Insurance Company and Wake Forest University Law School. He is a graduate of Tufts University Medical School in Boston.

The distinction of fellow is bestowed upon individuals who demonstrate a history of service to the ACR, organized radiology, teaching or research. Only about 10 percent of ACR members become fellows, making it one of the organization’s highest honors.
