The North Carolina Medical Board (NCMB) has had the Position Statement entitled “Policy for the Use of Controlled Substances for the Treatment of Pain” since 1996. It was last revised in 2008. Currently, the Board is revisiting this Position Statement and is welcoming input to craft a clear, clinically-appropriate policy that protects the patients of North Carolina.
The NCMB will host a Public Forum at its offices at 1203 Front St., Raleigh, NC on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 4-6 PM and will accept public comments on the Position Statement. Those unable to attend may also submit written comments to email@example.com. The deadline to submit written comments is August 30.
A copy of the Position Statement is here and is also available on NCMB’s website, www.ncmedboard.org. If you or a representative from your organization plans to attend, please contact the NCMB. If you have any questions about the Position Statement in its current form, contact Christina Apperson at 919.277.1868.
