No Helmet Required for Autocycle Riders

If passed, this bill would no longer require autocycle operators and passengers to wear a helmet. NCMS opposes this bill due to the increased risk of head trauma.

This bill received a favorable report in the House Transportation Committee on March 21, 2017.

This bill was referred to the House Committee on Insurance on March 21, 2017, but was later withdrawn from that committee.

This bill was heard on the House floor on March 22, 2017. The bill was heavily debated. The bill passed the House with a vote of 76-41. The bill has been sent to the Senate.
