Modernization of Drug Court Program

nc-stampSB 550 – Modernization of Drug Court Program

Primary Sponsors: Sen. Joyce Randleman (R – Stokes), Sen. Jim Davis (R – Cherokee), Sen. Danny Britt (R – Robeson)

This bill would establish Judicially Managed Accountability and Recovery Courts throughout North Carolina, and provide case management and continuity of care for those enrolled in the program.

The goal of these courts would be to reduce the mental, behavioral or medical health-related court workload. Additionally, the courts would promote interaction, collaboration, coordination and use of resources among criminal and juvenile justice personnel, child protective services personnel and community agencies.
