The US House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee passed HR 452
, the “Medicare Decisions Accountability Act” by voice vote on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. HR 452 will repeal the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), which was created by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) to recommend Medicare cuts for physicians, hospitals and other health care providers. HR 452 is sponsored by Rep. Phil Roe, (R-TN).
The IPAB Repeal Coalition, along with its 42 partners, sent a letter to members of the Committee asking them to repeal the implementation of IPAB. Read the letter here.
The House Ways and Means Committee Subcommittee and Health also held a hearing on HR 452 on March 6. The committee was expected to vote on the bill yesterday.
