Medicaid Alerts Healthcare Professionals who are Eligible for EHR Incentive Program

Last Friday, September 21, 2012, postcards were sent on behalf of DMA’s North Carolina Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program to healthcare professionals who are potentially eligible for the incentive program and who are not already participating in the program. By notifying those professionals, Medicaid hopes to bring more awareness to the EHR program and its benefits.

Physicians and other medical professionals who have received the post card should refer to the website, phone number, and/or email address provided on the card to address any questions or concerns regarding the EHR program. DMA is committed to helping the medical community understand and implement EHRs.

Medical practices that need assistance meeting Meaningful Use also may contact Terri Gonzalez, NCMS Director of Practice Improvement, at 800-722-1350 or tgonzalez@ncmedsoc.org. The NCMS offers consulting services through PractEssentials to assist physicians and their practices with practice management needs. NCMS members can receive these services at a discounted rate.
