American Health Information Management Association presents ICD-10 Basics on Thursday August 22, 2013 at 1:30PM – 3PM. Are you ready to transition to ICD-10 on October 1, 2014? Join us for a keynote presentation on ICD-10 basics by Sue Bowman from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), along with an implementation update by CMS. A question and answer session will follow the presentation. The presentation will cover the benefits of ICD-10, Similarities and differences from ICD-9, coding, training needs and timelines, Resources for coding and training, and national implementation issues. The Institute for Medical Quality (IMQ) and the PACE Program at the University of California, San Diego are pleased to announce the addition of keynote speaker Nancy Dickey, MD, family practitioner and the first female president of the American Medical Association, to the upcoming Stepping Up to Leadership conference.

The Stepping Up to Leadership program trains medical staff leaders in issues of communication, problem-solving, and improving outcomes for patients and staff. For the first time, Stepping Up to Leadership is available as a national event, with events in San Antonio, Texas (November 7-9, 2013); San Diego, California (March 6-8, 2014); and Washington, DC (May 8-10, 2014).  A grant from the Physicians Foundation allows IMQ and PACE to offer Stepping Up to Leadership at prices as low as $595 for three days, making this an unbeatable opportunity.
