Funding for Down Syndrome Programs

This bill would appropriate $1 million for the 2017-2018 fiscal year and $1 million for the 2018-2019 fiscal year to the NC Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services for down syndrome programs. The programs would be required to support the entire state.

The bill would require the Department allocate funds to programs that provide one of the following:

  • Assistance with dignified integration into the community;
  • Housing assistance;
  • Job training, job placement, or both.
