Celebrate, Reflect on Rural Health Day, Nov. 16

Over 60 million Americans live in rural and frontier communities. While they are wonderful places to live and work, these communities also have unique health care needs. The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health celebrates Rural Health Day on Nov. 16, and challenges all rural health stakeholders to inspire communities to address and resolve their most challenging population health issues.

At the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS), Franklin Walker, MBA, VP, Rural Health Systems Innovation, and Executive Director of Community Practitioner Program, oversees our longstanding and vibrant Community Practitioner Program as well as initiating new partnerships to help serve our rural communities.
