The invited lecturer is Valinda Rutledge, Director of the Patient Care Models Group with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation Center. Prior to joining the Center, Ms. Rutledge was president and CEO of CaroMont Health in Gastonia.
Proceeds from this event will fund the Jim Bernstein Health Leadership Fellows Program. These fellowships provide mentoring and training for working health care professionals from all disciplines who serve underserved, vulnerable, and mostly rural patient populations. The funds pay a small stipend to cover the costs of the fellow’s individual community project, and training costs. The Fellowship builds indigenous capacity in low-wealth North Carolina communities by training young health care professionals to work effectively with community organizations and health systems. The program selects rising health care leaders who exhibit leadership, dedication and/or creativity through their service to rural and underserved communities.
The dinner costs $50 per person. Checks should be payable to the NC Foundation for Advanced Health Programs, with “2011 Jim Bernstein Dinner” noted on the memo line, and mailed to P.O. Box 10245, Raleigh, NC 27605. You may contact the Foundation at 919-821-0485 or email Judy Howell at firstname.lastname@example.org to pay by credit card.
