The generous gift recognizes each schools’ commitment to working collaboratively with the entire medical community through their support of the physical hub of this activity at the NCMS Center for Leadership in Medicine in downtown Raleigh. All of these educational institutions will help shape the future of health care in North Carolina through education of future generations of health care providers. The NCMS Center For Leadership in Medicine is a focal point for innovation and collaboration.
Each school’s contribution will be recognized in the library at the Center, which houses the NCMS’ archives dating back to the mid-19th century. The NCMS was founded in 1849 and is the oldest professional society in the state today representing 12,500 physicians and physician assistants statewide. The library serves as a place for research as well as quiet reflection. An event to pay tribute to the donors will be held later this year.
The NCMS, an organization dedicated to the professionalism of medicine, has always been a strong supporter of medical education and its importance in our state.
Thank you to these vital institutions!
