In January of 2019, the NCMS convened a group of health care providers and thought leaders to address North Carolina’s alarming maternal and infant health statistics. ASAM Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder Course for Women’s Health Providers: Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and clinical nurse specialists who wish to obtain a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine in office-based treatment of opioid use disorder, and other team members working with providers who prescribe buprenorphine in office-based treatment of opioid use disorder. The combined online enduring material and live activity will provide the required 8 hours needed to obtain the waiver to prescribe buprenorphine in office-based treatment of opioid use disorder. This MAT waiver training will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019, from 7:55 am to 12:30 pm, at the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley Hotel. This educational event is presented by the NC Ob/Gyn Society.
