The North Carolina Medical Society Foundation (NCMSF) is the philanthropic arm of the North Carolina Medical Society. The mission of the North Carolina Medical Society Foundation is to improve access to quality health care for all North Carolinians. Our portfolio of programs demonstrates our commitment to this vision.
The Foundation’s Community Practitioner Program partners with local communities and health care organizations to assist in recruiting talented primary care physicians, physician assistants, and family nurse practitioners by providing grants in return for service in underserved communities. By offering some relief for educational debts, the program’s grant support encourages health professionals to serve in areas of North Carolina that need them most.
PractEssentials: Improving Sustainability of Medical Practices
Practice efficiencies are particularly essential in underserved areas in order to ensure the viability of health care delivery and their retention in the community. Through PractEssentials, the NCMSF provides practice management resources to help physicians deliver clinically effective medical care to disadvantaged populations while achieving maximum practice efficiency and productivity.
Kanof Institute for Physician Leadership: Educating Strong Leaders To Affect Great Change
Long-term impact of the problem of access to care requires system reform. Reform does not come easily and requires leadership of the highest caliber. In partnership with the NCMS, the Foundation has created the Kanof Institute for Physician Leadership and its three program tracks to prepare physicians to provide leadership in their communities and in the medical profession.
