Bill Summary

This bill would enhance requirements for discharges of pollutants to the state’s air and water. The bill would give the Secretary the ability to require a permit holder to provide and maintain a water filtration process to remove pollutants from the area if the permittee has caused or permitted any pollutant into waters of the state that are unauthorized. This bill would provide DEQ with $14,052,717 and DHHS with $536,000 in increased funding to address contamination of drinking water.
