To help those in smaller and rural offices plan and prepare for ICD-10 implementation in 2015, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will be sponsoring free, in-person training. Coders, billers, office managers, or practice managers, please register for a “Billing Office” class. If you are a physician, NP, PA, CSW, RD, or other clinical professional, please sign up for a “Clinicians” class. In many cities, the classes are combined and the audience is shown as “Everyone.”

The Update in Joint Reconstruction Surgery Symposium will take place October 3 – 5, 2014 at the Marriott Harbor Beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Program Directors Dr. Wael Barsoum and Dr. Juan C. Suarez would like to encourage NCMS members to attend to hear some of the best orthopedic physicians from Cleveland Clinic and the CORE Institute as well as other invited faculty. The 19th Annual NC Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference will be held Oct. 8-10 at the Raleigh Convention Center. The North Carolina Medical Society assisted with the conference program, which is designed to educate anyone who participates in the North Carolina workers’ compensation system and will examine the current rules, procedures, policies and forms.
